Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals:


Service animals or emotional support animals accompanying individuals with a disability or special needs are permitted in the airplane cabin free of charge.

SKY CANA only allows dogs as service and emotional support animal on board to assist customers.


Conditions:
  • Dogs will be the only animal permitted as service and emotional support animals.
  • Number of animals allowed: Only one (1) dog per passenger is accepted.
Exemptions:
  • Up to two (2) service dogs will be accepted, provided that the assistance of both dogs is required.
  • You will need documentation showing that each dog performs different tasks, or that the dogs will take turns providing assistance because of the length of the trip.
  • Passenger traveling to / from the United States: may transport only one (1) emotional support dog or a total of two (2) service dogs.
Age required:
  • Service animals: Old enough to have been trained and respond to the directions of the owner.
  • Emotional support animals: The dog must be at least 6 months old.
Additional requirements:
  • Documentation required for transportation Service animals.
  • Identification showing that the dog is a service animal.
  • Proof of vaccination and a certificate of good health. Any documentation necessary for entry to the destination country for your emotional support animal.
  • A medical certificate issued by a mental health professional, certifying that the passenger is confirmed to have a mental or emotional disability and needs an emotional support animal while traveling to or from the final destination.
        The medical certificate must meet the following criteria:
        • The date of issue must be less than one year prior to the date of departure of the flight.
        • The certificate must be signed and stamped by the medical professional, and it must include the following information about his or her license:
          • The date of issue, the state or jurisdiction, and the type of license.
          • The document must be legible.
          • Proof of vaccination and a certificate of good health.
          • Any documentation necessary for entry to the destination country.
      General Requirements:
      • Notify the airline 48 hours prior to the departure of your flight that you will be traveling with a service animal or an emotional support animal.
      • Exit row seating is prohibited.
      • The dog must sit on the floor in front of your assigned seat. It may not take up space in the aisles.
      • The dog may sit in your lap, if it is no larger than an infant. If the dog is too big to fit at your feet, you will be assigned a seat with additional space, if possible. If this is not possible, you may purchase an extra seat in order to have additional floor space to accommodate the dog in front of or next to your seat.
      • Animals may not sit in the seats.
      • The animal should not extend into the aisles.
      • All animals that have been accepted for transportation in the cabin must remain with the passenger at all times.
      • Dogs may be denied transportation in the cabin if they have an unpleasant odor; engage in misbehavior such as barking, growling, or attacking other passengers; or are not housebroken.
      • If the travel requirements of the destination country are not met, boarding must be denied until these requirements are satisfied. The passenger is responsible for any costs associated with these changes.

Traveling with pets:

We are happy to receive you on board with your furry partner. Small dogs and cats may travel in the cabin in an approved pet carrier that fits under the seat in front of you.


It’s easy to travel with your pet when you are informed. Please ensure you have everything you need for your trip:

  • Book in advance, we have a limited number of pets allowed in cabin for each flight.
  • Only one pet per customer is allowed.
  • Necessary vaccinations and documentation. Every destination requires special documentation, we suggest contacting the nearest authorities for more information.
  • Maximum Dimensions for crate: 55x45x25 cm; The crate must have an impermeable bottom, must be placed under the passenger's seat and the pet must remain inside during the flight.
  • Maximum Mass per PETC with the crate: 8 Kg
  • Only one dog or cat may be transported per kennel.

Note: Sky Cana reserves the right to refuse acceptance of an animal for such reasons as illness, poor kenneling of the animal or long transit times.

Following animals will not be carried:

  • Pregnant animals without an official veterinary certificate indicating animal fit to fly
  • Animal which has given birth in the previous 48 hours
  • Animals transported for the purpose of laboratory testing

Charge must apply: $125 each way.

Traveling with kids:


If you're flying with an infant, child or young adult, you may need to make specific arrangements for meals, seating, cots and pushchairs. Some countries have additional restrictions for children traveling with their guardians or as unaccompanied minors, please confirm with your local authorities.

Infants:
Newborn child until their 2nd birthday can travel as a lap infant. They pay a special fare plus applicable tax. If you’re traveling with a lap infant, you can bring aboard a diaper bag and stroller in addition.

Children:
A child 2 years or older must travel in a purchased seat, with a ticket issued at the corresponding fare.

Unaccompanied Minors (UMNR):


This service refers to children in the ages of ages 5 - 14 who are traveling alone, without a parent, legal guardian or someone who is at least 18 years old.

An UMNR (Unaccompanied Minor) form shall be properly issued and the parent/guardian shall remain with the child as long as possible before boarding.

Unaccompanied minors are only accepted on direct, point to point flights.


Children between 12 and 16 years, so called Young Persons (YP), may be accepted as UMNR if requested.

Children under the age of 5 are not be accepted as UMNRs. They must always travel with their parents, siblings aged 16 or over, or someone 18 or older and capable of guarding and guiding the child throughout the journey.

Due to COVID-19, we have temporarily suspended our unaccompanied minor service until further notice.

Charge may apply: Passenger must select special UM fare during booking process.

UMs from 5 to 7 year old are accepted only on Sky Cana nonstop flights.
UMs older than 8 years are accepted only on Sky Cana nonstop flights and Sky Cana connecting flights.

Traveling during pregnancy:


Recommendations tend to vary for each pregnant woman. For your safety, we recommend that you contact your doctor before taking a trip, especially for high-risk pregnancy situations.

Women with less than 30 weeks of pregnancy can travel without medical approval if no special conditions apply.

Women with more than 30 weeks of pregnancy must sign a Liability Waiver Form, exonerating the airline from any setbacks or occurrences having to do with their condition.


An approval form, from a doctor authorizing the trip must be presented at check-in.

For your and your baby’s safety you cannot fly after:

  • The end of the 36th week if you are pregnant with one baby
  • The end of the 32nd week if you are pregnant with more than one baby

Traveling with newborn babies:

If you wish to fly, it recommended you wait until the baby is at least 7 days old to travel.

Special meals & food allergies:


We offer special meals on selected routes when a breakfast, lunch or dinner is scheduled.

If your flight includes a meal, you can make a special meal request at the time of booking or by adding a request to an existing reservation whilst managing your booking or by contacting our customer contact center. Special meals must be requested at least 72 hours before your departure.
